Website : worth 15%, Blog: worth 10%

Your website must be accessible at: http://www.imagearts.ryerson.ca/youraccount/

Create a Ryerson website that will serve as your professional portfolio. The site is to be used to give faculty and students a sense of your creative identity.  Faculty will expect you to post documentation on all creative projects in this website during your four years with us.  The site is to be developed using css and html5 only and must validate fully using the w3c validator service.

This assignment has 6 steps: See calendar in blackboard for due dates.

Due week 2 3: Step 1: Post examples of websites you think work well, explain what does work and does not in terms of navigation, content, look and technical abilities.

Due week 6: Step 1 Group CSS layout

Due week 7: Step 2 Personalized version of css layout

Due week8: Step 3 Evaluation of a peer site

Due week 9: Step 4 Final website

I will use the following rubric to evaluate your sites In parallel to this website, you are also to create a blog using wordpress.  This blog is to be a place to be used as a creative and research journal. Use it to post reflections and ideas. Both blog and website have to be linked to each others.

Your blog needs to link to two vimeo videos:
a) Documentation of Second Life Experience            (week7 8)                                    10%

b)1 Vimeo Reflections on Readings 10%

In a video you post to vimeo, respond to one question, posted on the course blog,  by synthesizing at least five research sources.

Example: What is new media? Synthesize five definitions of new media to create your own. Please feel free to interview faculty, students in the upper years of the program and/or new media practitioners; read books or articles; or use any other creative research methods to find your answers. Make sure you credit all sources.

c) In Class exercises responses.
